Max English, member of the Blue Band and recent graduate of Penn State University, visited Soaring Heights School in State College to speak to students about career opportunities in music. During his presentation, Max revealed how he auditioned for the Blue Band and was accepted as a member. He also detailed the long hours and commitment it took for him to remain a contributing member of the band and the opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl and Pinstripe Bowl along with other Blue Band commitments.
Max demonstrated how to play the trumpet and played several songs that the students enjoyed. He will soon spend 7 months on a cruise ship as a member of the orchestra. Max explained that his ability to play an instrument well has led to job positions in the private sector.
