About Our Intensive Teaching Classroom
The intensive teaching classroom in State College utilizes discrete trial teaching (DTT) sessions throughout the day. DTT breaks down larger skills into smaller components which are explicitly taught during structured one-on-one trials. These trials allow for repeated instruction and practice with a high level of assistance and positive feedback in order to build skills to fluency. This is an effective teaching method for children with autism who have difficulty learning from traditional methods.
