Students and staff of Soaring Heights Schools in Altoona and State College recently teamed up and provided 60 letters and colored pictures to the program “No Trainee Left Behind” in Altoona, PA.
The program selects a committee who commits to writing letters and coloring pictures to those in basic training to provide encouragement and friendship to them during their training. Students have been learning about veterans by visiting the Veterans’ Hospital and the Veterans’ Wall in Altoona, PA and have learned to respect the American flag by standing and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance every day. This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to show their appreciation to those who chose to give so much for our freedom.
