SHS Clearfield participated in the Autism Rocks event on Saturday, April 6th. This fundraising event is organized yearly to help increase awareness in our area as well as raise funds for two local autism schools, Merakey Education Center and Soaring Heights School located in Clearfield, that treat, educate, and advocate for individuals and their families affected by autism.

Many people are not aware that autism receives less than 5% of research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases, yet it is one of the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the United States! Autism now affects 1 in 59 children and is 4 times more common in boys.

This year the American Legion Post 0591 organized the event to occur on Saturday April 6th to help kick off April as Autism Awareness Month. All proceeds from this event were split between Soaring Heights School and Merakey Education Center in Clearfield.
