Soaring Heights School will conduct three monthly presentations from February to April. Each training will take place at Soaring Heights School – State College from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Soaring Heights School is located at 180 Regent Court, Suite 50 in State College.
An RSVP for each individual planning to attend a presentation is preferred, but not required. Individuals can RSVP by calling 814-325-2131.
Dr. Hunter will host the first training, “Strategies for Teaching Social Skills in the Home and Community”, on February 8. This training will include social stories and video modeling.
On March 1, occupational therapist Sonia Van Horn will present an overview of sensory strategies that promote self-regulation and efficient sensory processing. Signs and symptoms of sensory processing difficulty will be reviewed. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and try strategies during the training.
The final training, “Hot Topics on Autism”, will be held on April 5. Dr. Hunter will cover current trends in research in parent-friendly language.
Soaring Heights School provides educational and behavioral programming for students in grades K through 12 with ASD, and is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
